Sipera Expands Management Team with Experienced Executives

Adds VP Engineering Ravi Varanasi and VP Finance Greg Flowers

Richardson, TX, November 14, 2006 -- Sipera Systems, the leader in pure security for VoIP, mobile and multimedia communications, today announced it has strengthened its management team with the appointment of senior executives Ravi Varanasi and Greg Flowers. These key appointments bring additional strong leadership and experience to Sipera that are crucial to its ongoing growth. Both will report to Sipera President and CEO Seshu Madhavapeddy.

As Vice President of Engineering, Varanasi will lead all development efforts for Sipera’s IP communications security solutions. Prior to Sipera, Varanasi led development efforts for Cisco Systems, focused on security technology, enterprise networking and core engineering. He was a founding member for Cisco industry initiatives including Network Admission Control (NAC), Cisco Pervasive Security (CPS), and Application Security. He also developed many security technologies from early stage concepts to shipping products, including IPSec VPNs, network anomaly detection, application firewalls, web application and services security.

As Vice President of Finance, Flowers will direct Sipera’s finance activities including budgets, forecasting and compliance. Prior to Sipera, Flowers was a vice president of GTESS Corporation, where he led the company’s financial management activities. He was the key driving force behind operational efficiencies and financial plans that significantly improved the company’s cash position. Flowers also held senior finance positions at Alcatel, where he integrated three acquisitions, increased operating profits and proposed risk mitigation strategies for over $1 billion in customer proposals.

“Sipera is growing rapidly, and as the market for VoIP security inevitably expands and matures, we continue to add individuals with strong industry backgrounds to round out our management team,” said Madhavapeddy. “Greg and Ravi bring specialized expertise to the Sipera team that will be critical assets as we further establish our market leadership position.”
