Sipera Systems Recognized as a Nortel Developer PartnerSipera IPCS 310 Demonstrates Interoperability with Nortel’s MCS 5100 Richardson, TX, May 2, 2006 -- Sipera Systems, the leader in pure security for VoIP, mobile and multimedia communications, today announced that its comprehensive IP security product, the Sipera IPCS 310, has completed interoperability testing with Nortel’s Multimedia Communication Server (MCS) 5100 and will now carry the Nortel Compatible Product designation. In addition, Sipera has been recognized as a Nortel* Developer Partner. The combination of the Sipera IPCS 310 security solution and Nortel’s MCS 5100 enables businesses to securely deploy advanced IP-based capabilities, including video conferencing and calling, VoIP, and instant messaging. In fact, the ability to protect, manage and archive instant messaging (IM) communications was a key customer requirement addressed through close cooperation between Nortel and Sipera. Interoperability between Nortel’s MCS 5100 and Sipera IPCS 310 allows organizations to record business data/directives transmitted via IM and control the use of public IM services for compliance with corporate governance policies. “For us, proven interoperability of the Nortel MCS 5100 and Sipera IPCS 310 allows us to buy with confidence,” said Walt Magnussen, Director for Telecommunications, Texas A&M University. “Nortel enabled us to deploy our unified communications network quickly, while Sipera delivers the market-leading security required to operate with complete confidence.” “We are simplifying the way customers do business with Nortel by giving our customers access to Nortel compatible products that can be deployed along with the Multimedia Communication Server 5100,” said Alex Pierson, vice president and general manager, Enterprise and SMB Communication Systems, Nortel. “Nortel is committed to working with companies like Sipera to enable open, standards-based interfaces that give customers greater choice and flexibility when implementing multimedia applications.” “Together with the Nortel MCS 5100, the Sipera IPCS 310 enables business to securely realize the power of real-time IP communications applications including VoIP, IM, multimedia and collaboration,” said Seshu Madhavapeddy, Sipera President and CEO. “Interoperability with Nortel’s MCS 5100 is a key factor in the success of the Sipera IPCS products, and membership in Nortel’s Developer Program will provide the infrastructure and tools necessary to engage and collaborate with an expanding field of companies and products.” Launched at VoiceCon Spring 2006, Sipera IPCS products represent the most comprehensive pure security solution for protecting real-time IP communications applications such as VoIP, instant messaging (IM), video and multimedia. The Sipera IPCS 310 is deployed within the network to protect both the infrastructure and end-users from a number of malicious, application-specific attacks and service abuse.
