Sipera Systems is pleased to announced our certification to the RSA Secured Partner Program to certify interoperability between the Sipera UC-Sec UC security product family and (RSA products) from RSA®, The Security Division of EMC. This certification signifies that a technical partnership has been established to increase security for joint customers and enable their Unified Communications.
The certification enables enterprises to easily use RSA SecurID two-factor authentication for VoIP phones without special clients or phone configuration, seamlessly extending their existing authentication process to encompass voice.
Customers can now complement two-factor data authentication from RSA by implementing Sipera's unique capabilities to enable two-factor authentication for VoIP.
For example, an enterprise utilizing RSA two-factor authentication for a data VPN can extend that investment to authentic remote IP phones as well. In doing this for VoIP with Sipera's solution, customers can now dramatically increase the security of UC voice traffic across extended enterprises, including remote workers, branch offices and other parties outside the trusted enterprise perimeter.
The Sipera solution does not require clients to be installed on an enterprise's IP phones or special configuration of the phones because authentication is handled by Sipera's award-winning UC security appliances. Users simply use their IP phone to submit the SecurID token and their ID to achieve two-factor authentication. This significantly reduces equipment management costs and interworking efforts, while simplifying the adoption of UC and the many benefits of extended enterprise communications.
The Sipera UC-Sec products are comprehensive, real-time UC security solutions that simplify and protect UC over any network and to any device. Backed by the extensive vulnerability research of Sipera VIPER Lab, the Sipera UC-Sec products provide threat protection, policy enforcement, access control and privacy in a single, real-time appliance. The product family spans four systems supporting up to 50,000 users.
