Sipera proactively identifies VoIP threats through its Sipera VIPER Lab which is comprised of knowledgeable VoIP and security architects and engineers. Every day, these VIPER Lab staffers research and identify vulnerabilities and potential exploits in VoIP protocols, VoIP equipment and phones. To date, they have published threat advisories for several WiFi/dual-mode phones, softphones and VoIP hardphones including those allowing remote attackers to carry out VoIP-to-data exploits, spoofing and denial-of-service attacks, unwanted reboots, and uninitiated toll calls.
